To Herb Alpert's Tijuana Taxi. I thought that this was a really funny glimpse into the past. The girl with the short brown hair has some skillz. I'm pretty sure that all of the guys in this video are gay. I mean, NTTAWWT, or anything. http://youtu.be/7aTO_PWxmuY |

Several times now, arfcom has pointed me towards some pretty cool music. This isn't one of those times. It's hard to imagine how popular Herb Alpert was. You couldn't get away from his music in the late 60s, it was on TV, radio, and in the movies. From his Wiki page: "Alpert and the Tijuana Brass won six Grammy Awards. Fifteen of their albums won gold discs, and fourteen won platinum discs. In 1966 over 13 million Alpert recordings were sold, outselling the Beatles. That same year, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized that Alpert set a new record by placing five albums simultaneously in the top 20 on the Billboard Pop Album Chart, an accomplishment that has never been repeated. In April of that year, four of those albums were in the Top 10 simultaneously." |

Is that CoC compliant? Jody Miller had a hell of a voice. I posted one of her vids a while back. I think that this is the only other time I've seen her mentioned. |

Say what you will about Herb Alpert's music (I like it myself), Herb Albert was the mover and shaker in the music industry from 1962 until 1989. A&M was the only large independent music label and had a large stable of talent. Ever hear of A&M Records? |
