My uncle wants to get his own website setup.
He used to have a site called prohunting.net but I believe he quit paying the web hosting fees last year. He is a published author and wants something to spend time on. There will be no sales or marketplace. More of a blog I suppose. It will be for sharing hunting stories, photos of hunting trips, especially his kids and nephews. I've heard companies advertise on Rush or Mark Levin for free designing and 30day "test drive" and pay the hosting fees afterwards. What's a ballpark start up cost (if any) and then monthly/annual cost to manage? |

Easy way? Find a host and setup a Wordpress site.
I use SiteGround to host a half dozen or so sites. I have no complaints. The few issues I've had typically revolved around anti-spam issues and were easily resolved. Ok, I do have one complaint but it's not specific to SG. On my account I can only send emails with 40 recipients. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but my wife works for a local gym and they have a ton of instructors. If she needs a sub she can't send one email (nor can she do a reply all to something the co sends her). I had to create multiple groups which is cumbersome to maintain. Most ISPs are like this, though, to block spam relaying. Wordpress is so simple I use it on all my sites now. If his needs are as simple as you described I don't think it'd be any problem for him. Feel free to PM me if you wanna discuss anything offline. ETA: Beat by seconds. |
