Was on the way home from my Aunt's house in MD when my wife checked our messages...my mom called and was kinda upset. I called on the cell, but got the answering machine. I was in the bathroom when the phone wrang and I hear my wife making small talk, and then..."are you okay?" WTF? Then Erica comes to the door, knocks and say's "open the door it's your mom". We say high, and as soon as I ask what's wrong she starts balling. Through ther tears I hear her say "Do you remember Kevin?" (No shit I remember him, I saw him 2 weeks ago) "Yeah" her "His mom shot and killed him last night, and then shot herself." WTF????

Kevin was about 40 years old, and mentally handicapped. Not completely retarded, just slow. He was married and they had just moved into a new home. His wife (also handicaped)has all kinds of problems including severe epilepsy. Apparently Kevin's mom was manic depressive and left a note saying that "This world was no place for her or Kevin". His wife is a complete mess and my mom isn't doing too much better. (My mom met them while driving a van for Steps, an employment agency for the handicapped, a few years ago and they've been friends since. Please pray for Kevin and his mom's souls. May the LORD have mercy on them, and may the living be comforted. Thanks.
