Hey...one thing I have wanted to add (need to add) to my collection is a Garand. I'm familiar with CMP from discussions I've read. But what is the easiest route to order from them? I know there are some restrictions. I'm not former military or currently an active member of a gun club. Do their rifles have to be shipped to FFL if I don't have a curio license? Thanks for input.

Start here.

You will need to meet eligibility requirements, one of which is to belong to an affiliated club. Garand Collectors Association is the quickest and easiest.
Their firearms are shipped direct to your home, if your state allows it,

Yep!  A lot of hoops to jump through but worth it.  If you have A CCDW that will qualify you for the marksmanship training requirement.  The birth certificate is another PITA.

Lots of ways to meet the marksmanship requirements - check the site for details. C&R license counts, too.

Another thought.
To obtain both club membership and meeting the shooting requirement at the same time, is to look for a local CMP affiliated club that holds Service Rifle Clinics.
Join the club and do a clinic.

a hunters safety course even satisfies the shooting requirement

ETA: it's actually a bad idea to order a garand if you don't like addiction

I did a CCW class for marksmanship, and joined GCA online for $15 for club affiliation.

Well worth it.

I just noticed that being > 60 meets the marksmanship requirements.
It almost seems that with 60 year old plus eyes I'd have to prove I could see, like with driving a car.

Get your paperwork in order and then make the drive.  Pick your own at Anniston.  I drive from Hilton Head to Anniston  and back in one day last year.  Picked up a real nice Springer Service Grade.

not really a big deal.....if you have live fire training and its documented (CCW) for example.......belong to a valid club or organization.....put a copy of your ID cards on a scanner....fill out order form....mail...rifle will be delivered to you.....

I joined GCA. Used my DD214 as my shooting requirement. Drove to Anniston and picked mine out. Probably going after the first of the year for another.
