We haven't had much luck with senators that have been elected president.
They got rid of kennedy after three years. And Look at what we have now.

Going all the way back to the 50's, when I was a kid, we had Eisenhower. A famous
general. A man that knew how to manage people and material, obviously.

Since then, all presidents have been either ex vice presidents or ex governors. I'm a little disapointed
in senators that think they are ready for such an office. They all seem unqualified.

Senators are good at talking. Thats about it.,

Why haven't our recently decorated war hero's ran for office? Seems like they used to, or least a few did.

Eisenhower
Teddy
Grant
Jackson
Washington of course.

These names come to mind, but nothing recently.

Liberal progressives elevate the Senate above Congress.  Look how the talking heads say "Congress and the Senate" .  Reality is the Congress is composed of two bodies, the House of Reps and the Senate.

So they feel the Senate is the farm league of the Executive branch.  This started with popular election of Senators (they used to be appointed by state legislatures) mandated by the 17th Amendment...which was started by whom?  William Jennings Bryan.  Fuck be unto him.

Bill Clinton was a governor. Think about his"qualifications".

It's not so much a matter of a candidate's qualifications but it's their ability to raise money and whether or not they are organized at the national level.

Look at Rick Perry, he was the governor of one of the largest states in the union and had good funding but he couldn't get on the ballot here in Virginia because he didn't have enough people in this state to get signatures, while Ron Paul was able to do so because he has fanatics in every state.

Senators have a bit more credibility since they have to win a statewide election, but usually I shake my head at representatives running for president.

Ted Cruz probably isn't going to go anywhere because he's been burning bridges and he's toxic outside of Texas.

Rand Paul, yes. Not because I like the guy but because he can tap in to a national fundraising base(the old Paulbots) and this will be especially important if he has to compete against an established group of bundlers. Senators can make good presidents I think.

A Rand Paul/Scott Walker ticket(or vice versa) would be nice.

Folks USUALLY prefer candidates with Executive experience, i.e., Governors, for POTUS

I'm afraid Rand Paul will end up as loony as his old man.
Your statement that "senators can make good presidents, I think" is based on what? Kennedy and obama?

They are very unqualified. President is an executive, like governors. Senators generally have zero executive experience and are extremely unqualified for the position. That's why a Rand Paul at the top of the ticket doesn't work.

Rick Perry   p

Rand Paul/Cruz  vp

^ There is your only decent ticket.
