I bought a reproduction M1927A1 maybe three months ago. About $950. 16" barrel, Cutts compensator, foward pistol grip. No manual, no cleaning kit, no sling. Just a 30-round stick magazine, but it was in really good condition, like it was brand new. Except for the fact that Auto Ordnance had machined the mag catch hole out bigger, so it would fit. Apparently they changed the size of the mag catch or something, because no mags fit without a little modification. But anyways, it would jam every shot. So I started messing with it, and found that the stick mag was really loose, so I bought a 20-rounder from CTD. It wasn't nearly as nice as the 30-rounder. Filed out the hole just right, and it didn't wobble any. Fixed the jams for a while. I guess the feed lips were bent or something, 'cause it's back to jamming again. I just bought some 185gr .45s, to see if they work better than the 230s. And two screws have fallen off. They're not really important. The front two of four screws holding the rear sight on just fell of somewhere and I don't know where they are. They had always been loose, and I was always tightening them. I really like it, but if it jams every shot, it's not much fun, and pretty embarassing too. Should I contact Auto Ordnance on this, or just deal with it? |

My friend bought one of those a year ago. While running the first mag through it he broke the extractor. Kahr told him to send the bolt in for a new one. Over a month passed with no response. He called Kahr and they said they never recieved his bolt and didn't know what he was talking about. Fortunatly he set the bot with a return reciept and that cleared everything up quick. With the new bolt he's had no problems other than screws falling out of the rear sight. I heard the Auto Ordance QA has gone downhill since Kahr bought them. |

You need to elongate the hole in the vertical axis. Leave the bottom portion of the hole alone and remove material from the top a little at a time until it feeds reliably. Under spring tension it will stay tight. |
| I bought my wife one of these (at her request). The first time we went out to shoot it, it fired one round and seemed to not recock the hammer. Hand cycle every other round and it worked for a couple more shots. We finally decided to give up and that it may just need a better cleaning than my initial one. I have yet to get back to the range to retest. I assume American Eagle 230gr FMJ would be adequate, but I have plans to try something else also. |
