I don't drink much, but I mixed a Makers & diet Pepsi for breakfast, now I'm 5 deep and have a nice buzz. Hoping to make it 'til dinner.

Any advice?

Ditch the soda. Enjoy the whiskey.

I normally don't mix Makers, but I don't drink coffee, just DP. Tossed a shot I. This AM and it worked out nicely

Drinking in the morning ruins the rest of the day.  At least drinking at night, you can usually sleep it off and start doing something when you wake up.

I did that once with Bacardi Torched Cheery Rum and Coke.

Did a bottle before dark, and then switched to Hefeweizen.

The next day wasn't especially fun.

Pick a fight with a relative, then drink some more.  Preferably a liberal relative if you have one.

Just me, wife, and kids. Relatives are 800 miles away.

I have no liberal relatives that I know of.

Just start calling people at random.  Try this number to start: (202) 224-3121

Happy Thanksgiving, James.

I have no advice, but I do think I'll have to pop open a beer

Both spellings are considered acceptable.

I find that I can maintain when I pour just a shot at a time, add a couple ice cubes (used to abhor ice or water in my whisky, but I'd get too dehydrated and have come to like it either way) in a coffee cup so it maintains the temperature.

Then take small sips. If I feel I'm getting too buzzed, add more ice. Becoming too coherent, add more booze.
