I've been using a Young's BCG in my MK18 for a few years without issue. Suppressed/unsuppress, semi/auto. I'm a fan.

The Young's NM M16 chrome carriers are really nice....beautifully machined, ground, chromed, ground again (and slightly oversized).

I've got two but am I the only one who's worried about using such a hard BCG on aluminum?

Got a RRA chrome BCG in my Spike's / BCM build. Definitely a noticeable difference in the smoothness between it and other standard / parked carriers. Cleans a helluva lot easier too.

Heat treated and anodized Al is pretty hard+due to lubricant the BCG doesn't make hard contact with the receiver.

The AR15 was designed originally with a complete chrome BCG, minus the cam pin.

The Army fixed it, citing costs. Then came the Model 602.

Then the Army demanded a Forward Assist, which Gene Stoner didn't understand. "Why would you want to force a cartridge into battery if it doesn't go in normally?"

The Air Force demanded no Forward Assist.

I wonder if Ranier staking them voids the warranty. I remember reading about Youngs stating that their key fasteners don't need to be staked due to proper torque, and a returned damaged BCG would not be replaced if fasteners were staked.

NiB gets a vote. Mine is slick as a ribbon and easy to clean.
