It was amusing having them sing at an AUSA banquet for all of the Army ROTC 3 and 4 year scholarship awardees in North Alabama my senior year, watching the mother of the other awardee at our table, with no prior military connection, as she caught on to the lyrics of "Blood on the Risers" :-) I thought she was going to be ill at the thought of her poor little Johnny going off to do that :-) |

Quoted: I’m a civilian who never served. In that picture do I see a full Col, a 4 star, a two star, and a Sgt. Major? Thanks to all those runners for serving, from the front of the pack to the back. Mike Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Very probably, that's the entire division doing the run... Division commander is a two star, FORSCOM is at Bragg and commanded by a four-star, so if he joined in, that would explain it... (I don't see any other four-star commands at Bragg, USA SOCOM is a three-star). |

I used to hate these guys - Every morning running on Disney Drive Ardennes. Now i kind of miss them in my life I don't know which is harder to sing, that or "Screaming Eagles". Oh the pain http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/ff/All_American_Week_4-mile_Division_Run.jpg God, Division runs are horrible events. I was able to skate out of a couple, but not as many as I wanted to. |

Divarty was closer to the rear, IIRC, so it was the most horrendous accordion effect ever. Running in place for 20 minutes, then sprint for a mile and a half. Those were good times.

AA week was kind of cool because of the Hooters girls and various strippers that would come out. But not that cool, because I needed to be at work a half 20 minutes early, so I could be at company 20 minutes early, so I could be at BN 30 minutes early, so I could be at BDE 30 minutes early, so we could march down to be at Div 20 minutes early, so we could stand around for 30 minutes, so we could listen to the Division commander give a 2 minute hooah speech (after waiting 15 additional minutes so the speakers could get fixed) so we could run 3 miles. And by run, I mean run in place for a while, and then sprint, then run in place... Oh, and then run some more with the BN to be cool, and then more with the company so we could be extra cool. Its a lot of bullshit to go into a run. Division runs fucking blow. And yet part of me misses them.
