| Love Blue Bell homemade Vanilla - best store bought Vanilla ice cream around. Always pick some up when local grocery store has it on sale. As good as Blue Bell chocolate ice cream is, my vote is for Hagen Daz chocolate as the best store bought chocolate ice cream. |

Does no one here own an ice cream maker? I haven't tried this exact recipe, but it's very close to my favorite. (And this way I can just link to it instead of having to type everything out.) This is Homemade ice cream. You'll notice that "guar gum" isn't mentioned. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/french-vanilla-ice-cream-recipe/index.html BTW, they say to freeze it for at least an hour, but it's much better after freezing overnight. |
