I don't know if its good or bad, but I registered on POF 
not that I hate being a 28yr old single guy who is debt free and has a shit ton of cool guns but damn I get really lonely at times

Women are worse than either at providing enjoyable companionship. POF isn't even worth it for hookups as it's mostly populated by gutter trash, fatties & single moms. Make male friends, go to bars, pick up chicks. Or get a dog, go to dog bars, pick up chicks. POF and relationships with females aren't the answer!

Here's my experience with it.
You're doing it for the wrong reasons though. Don't do it because you're lonely, you'll fail. Do it because you want the entertainment. I'm giving it a week before I exhaust the options and move on to something else. |

I actually had one date with a girl from there, she seemed nice, we did the meal + mini golf thing, and then she got real distant after that, and we never saw each other again.
Then I talked to a few more people after that, and somehow managed to get myself IP blocked. Found I couldn't log in one day, tried password reset, tried a new account, did Googling and someone said that it meant I got my IP blocked. Tried e-mailing customer care, no answer. |

I just don't understand why normal people would go the online dating route. It's a minefield where nothing is as it seems. You might as well do your banking business with a Nigerian scammer.
What's wrong with meeting people the old fashioned way, in person? Just get out more, get involved in activities that you enjoy, and you're bound to meet someone. (And BTW, you don't meet eligible girls at gun shows. Try an activity that's more "neutral." Take a class at your local community college, or hang out more at your church.) |

I've been on and off of POF for a couple years. Have met a bunch of girls - some good some bad.
Usually goes like this: I send an email to a girl I think looks promising. Half the time, she never responds....no big deal, you just gotta let it slide off your back and move on. When one responds, we exchange 3 or 4 emails, asking and answering various questions. I give her my number and say that if she just wants to keep emailing it's fine with me (which it is, but only for a day or two further), but here's my number if she'd like to text me. After texting back and forth for a day or so and learning more about each other, I ask her to meet for dinner or drinks that weekend. Sometimes you can tell as soon as you see them (and vice versa, of course) that it's not gonna work out, but you just have to sit through dinner and make the best of it. If you guys like each other, ask her out again. That's how I do it, but since you didn't even ask for advice, I'm not sure why I typed all that out.

I don't think Jeff realized she was your GF when he made that joke about he never being married. At least, I hope he didn't. 
I however noticed a bare spot on her wrists. Does she ever wear a watch? I know where you can get her a super deal on a ladies watch

What Andrewsky says about self esteem here is true, it will grind your soul to dust  With that being said.....where the hell does one who works a lot meet women? At your age, you're not meeting them at church because all the good church girls get married in their early 20s. You're not meeting them in school because you're working. You might meet them in a bar, but that's likely not going to get you the results you want.
For many people, internet dating is the only realistic option, even with all of its downsides. |

I made an account on POF after splitting up with my ex wife. There were a few decent looking girls on there but it's hard to get them to respond. I chatted with a few decent looking girls but never ended up going on a date with them. I also got several unsolicited messages from MASSIVE land whales on thee which I didn't respond to.
There are tons of fatties and just plain low quality women on there. Some of the profile pictures just make me think "WTF this is the best picture of yourself you can find?" I did meet a pretty cool girl on Tinder, a singles app for the iPhone, which I've been on one date with and am going on another one with this Friday. |

Plenty of Whales has gone down hill from it's beginning. Apparently the guy doesn't make enough money from all the advertisements he needs to charge for things like....like temporarily disabling your profile so you can't be viewed, messaged, or spammed. So I opted to delete my profile instead.  |

That describes about first 3 years on POF. Once I corrected some of my issues and approach it was a gold mine. |
