Of course I want to know where they received those numbers. First of all, to them what defines "industrial"? Tents that have a well of water next to them?? I mean, those well pumps are very "Modern". I note that they call adults 24 years old children as the report states that "Black males aged 20--24 years had the highest average annual fatal (166.7/100,000 population) and nonfatal (689.4/100,000 population) firearm-related injury rates during the 6-year period" Hell where I come from if you're 18 you're adult enough to join the military, vote, drive, get married - but they're still "children". Also noticed that "an estimated average of 115,000 firearm-related injuries (including 35,200 fatal and 79,400 nonfatal injuries)" Mentions nothing at all about school. Figure five days a week, eight hours a day, a couple hundred days a year and those numbers are going to shrink way down - not many of those 24 year old children are going to be in school anyway. If the problem was with guns and not crime and violence why are "Males were seven times more likely to die or be treated in a hospital ED for a gunshot wound than females"? About half of the 35,000 firearm deaths are self inflicted - "15,000 unintentional gunshot". Do guns cause sucide? Why haven't we killed ourselves then? Compare these numbers with the accidental deaths caused by cars and doctors and they pale quickly. |

I would like to see the numbers from the government of the sex and race of legal gun owners. Then I'd like to see government numbers on the percentage of gang members by sex and race ... anyone want to bet that that chart is going to look like the one posted above or that the majority of firearms aren't the cause ... that it's a few in the wrong hands??? These people are amazingly stupid and shallow. |
