Alright, I've had the battery for this e-cig for about 8 months now.  Unknown manufacturer, I got it from ehookah.com, but it's an eGo pattern and has worked well so far.  Well I purchased some Smok Redux CE5 clearomizers (which I've been using for quite a while without issue) and I find myself having an issue.

Normally after using a clearomizer for about a month they start having that burnt taste, no issue, I just swap it out with a new CE5 and everything is good to go.  Well last night I started getting the burnt taste on one I'd been using for a while so I swapped it out and went to bed.

Started using the e-cig this morning and after about 5-10 puffs I started getting the burnt taste through the CE5.  I thought, oh well maybe a bad clearomizer, so I switched to another new one and went to work.  Well I'm starting to get the burnt taste on another new CE5 after only about 20-30 hits.

I'm noticing the plating on the contacts on the battery are starting to wear off and I'm thinking possibly the battery is bad.  Any thoughts or ideas?  I've now been a few weeks without smoking and not having this thing is sucking.

Picture of the plating wearing off:

Sounds like there is a short in the battery contacts making the el cheapo battery go full out.

Think that would cause the burnt taste though?  I could see a short causing an issue with the actual function.

Depending on the ohm of the heads the battery could be just frying the shit out of them.

Those batteries aren't supposed to last that long.  Mine only last 3-4 months.

Well I've got a picture up now of the plating wearing off.  Anything you think I could fuck with to get it back to a working condition until I can order some more batteries?

ETA:  I just don't understand how it went from functioning perfectly fine last night to not this morning, I figure the damn plating had been wearing off for a while now.  Oh well, guess it's time for some more batteries, I've been needing to get more than one for a while now.

Yeah, what I was figuring.  I hadn't cleaned that part off in a while and I at first just thought it was gunk from the normal operation of the e-cig.  Well I cleaned it off today and noticed it had actually worn through the plating.
