I'm almost done remodeling the wife's bathroom. I have replaced the POS plastic tub surround with a large tile shower. The vanity is gone to be replaced with a pedestal sink and a matchng toilet is ready to go in. The nasty tiled floor has been replacd w/ very dark bamboo floor.
We've done a really good and thorough job and now are faced with a storage issue. I am planning on building an inset shelf unit near the sink. I'm going really custom with this built in.....cut outs/stands for her hair equipment, a pull out shelf/drawer for her make-up and lotions. It will be floor to ceiling, about 30" wide and 8" deep. I would like to wire this built in with 2-3 total outlets. There is already a single outlet on the wall, GCFI wired (I'm ok w/ schematic for ganging another couple). I was looking for any tips/tricks or kind of a wired in power strip. Since I am building this shelving unit into the wall, I don't want to just plug in a cheap assed power strip. Any ideas from the electricians/DIYers? |

We use a single outlet and an adapter. The adapter allows plugs to be parallel to the wall, rather than sticking out. It is funny how many appliances you can accumulate. Lighted mirror, electric toothbrush, curling iron, hair dryer, etc all plugged into the wife's side of the bathroom. The adapter plugs into both plugs of a vertically mounted standard outlet.
