Two statements with large dollar amounts.  What looks better?

n  Reduced process chemical costs by 31%, or
$1.37 million per year. (or do I write out $1,370,000 or 1.37MM dollars, etc?)

n  Reduced energy usage by 8.1%, over $540,000
per year.

Just looking for the best format.

Are you applying to a large company?  or a small company?
If it is a small company, go with the dollar amount.    If it is a large company, go with the percentage.

Use both numbers.  30% can be any number.  Say % reduction resulting in $ savings.

So, type out $1,370,000, or 1.37 million dollars?  Maybe I'm all too anal about this, but I believe a resume should be absolutely perfect.  It is the one chance you get to make an impression that will get you an interview.  All too often I see resumes that are disheveled, no continuity of formatting, etc and I cringe.

I've always done it like: $1.37M, but that's understood to be the norm in my field.

I'd go with

Reduced process chemical costs by 62%, or $27.4 Million per year.

Reduced energy usage by 16.2%, over $10.8 Million per year.
