I'm a first-time lab owner, and I felt like showing off my dag! This is Dixie.
She started out fat, tiny and cute: http://adviceformysons.com/images/dixie-baby.jpg http://adviceformysons.com/images/dixie-baby2.jpg ...and now she's skinny, tall, and lanky. http://adviceformysons.com/images/dixie-big1.jpg http://adviceformysons.com/images/dixie-big2.jpg http://adviceformysons.com/images/dixie-big3.jpg She's still a puppy - about 8 months old now. |

Nah, I don't hunt and don't know anyone who can teach me. I'd love to bring her though. Quoted:

She been in the duck blind yet? Nah, I don't hunt and don't know anyone who can teach me. I'd love to bring her though. Put on camo, go to the river before sun up, shoot ducks when they fly by. |

Yeah, is it just me or do yellow labs just look stupid? - as in "I'm not a smart dog." Dixie is gorgeous! Quoted:

Black labs rule. Yeah, is it just me or do yellow labs just look stupid? - as in "I'm not a smart dog." Dixie is gorgeous! The smartest lab I ever had was a yellow. He was my first an I thought they were all going to be as smart. |

He was my first an I thought they were all going to be as smart. When I was looking at pups I figured out why I don't like yellows and all it is is me being shallow. But it seemed like in half of them they didn't have a black nose, and a dog needs a black nose, it's the rules or something. My bluetick has a black nose and he is all sorts of colors. |

Had a chocolate lab named Cody. He made it to 17, but his hearing went at about 15. Great dogs. He loved swimming in the creek we lived near. He was a complete idiot until he was about 5 though lol. Couldn't teach that dog a darn thing. :] I love my coonhound, but if he makes it to 17 I will probably be ready to just strangle him myself. The ones we had growing up usually lived 12-14 years, he is already getting that grouchy old man-ness about him now though, another 10 years of that would be a bit much. The new lab pup is really bringing out the grumpiness in him. |
