| Damn man sorry to hear about your dog. I just had to put my GSD down last month. It hit like a lightning bolt one day he was fine 2 days later dead. We were going to try and fight his condition called IMHA but its somewere 80% fatal. He went down fast and was looking at blood transfusions just to keep him going. After spending over 4k and watching him in 2 days time go from walking to not being able to lift his head up we knew it was time. It was hard to do and i tear up thinking about it. I stayed in with him as he went , my wife couldn't do it. It was fast like 30 secods he didn't move an inch i just kept telling hm he was a good boy and that we loved him petting his head. |

I'm very sorry to hear about your pretty lady (what is her name?) Naamah Back in 2003 or '04 my wife and I had a Sheltie, Kodie, who had to live with a tumor. We came home one day and he had the same look you described. We kissed and hugged him with tears in our eyes and then took him so he could finally be at peace. I don't envy you in the least, but try and find some solace in she'll be in a better place. Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... |

My condolences brother - I'm on the other end of the spectrum as we welcomed a new lab pup into our home.
We were a happy household before he got here but it is amazing the joy a dog can add to a family. I hope all goes as painlessly as possible for your buddy. |

I'm sorry. Part of loving them is knowing when it's time. It's not easy, but we owe them that last kindness for all the love they give us. Very true. They give us all they have, every day.Doing the right thing is difficult, but you can't let them down. Well said, both of you Sorry shedevil |
