I have a 95 4 door Tahoe, it still has the tires on it from when I got it but they are bald, so I need new tires. The factory tires are wimpy. I want to get somthing bigger. My question is what is the biggest tire I can clear on a stock Tahoe. I know I can fit 31" tires, can I fit 32"s or 33"s with no lift? Also It has its stock wheels, which are probibly 7" or 8" wide if I had to guess. what is the widest tire I can put on these wheels? Just wondering if anybody has tried to fit 32's or 33's on a stock tahoe/yukon/full size chevy. |

You might try www.tirerack.com. They have a tire size application that can help with various tire sizes for all types of vehicles. Good prices on most tires, too. From my own experience, it's generally possible to go 10, 15 or even 20mm wider with a tire on a stock rim. The problem is more likely going to be wheel well clearance than just putting the tire on the rim. Probably others here can answer more specifically to your vehicle. |

Quoted: What size wheels are you currently running; that will have a big impact on the tires that you can fit. I just run 275/70-16 on my 99 Yukon. the wheels are 16" by probibly 7 or 8" 275/70/16 are about 31" high correct, do they look pretty big, would bigger fit? |

Tirerack only gave me the size of the original tires that came on it. |

Largest you can fit on a 4x4 (?) '95 Tahoe is 285. 285's will rub quite a bit unless you crank the torsion bars (not recommended). 265's will fit fine with maybe a slight rub at full flex. 255's no problem. Believe me I know. Also be aware that your acceleration will drop with larger tires. also your engine will run at different RPM's at speed meaning it might feel more sluggish because it isn't producing max torque at that point anymore. Wear on suspension parts is a relative non issue. Given that your tire size change will be relatively minimal I don't think you'll have a power problem. Shoot me a PM if you need some more help. |

That probably means that my experience with the 99 won't apply. 265's were the stock size when I bought it (GM offered 245 or 265); I just bought the 275's when I had to replace the OEM tires; no fitment problems at all, no rub, no contact issues at all. The 99 looks like I could run a couple sizes larger if I was willing to buy a Hypertech or something to deal with the tire diameter/speedo issues. |

I got what this company calls a "front end leveling kit" which basically levels out the truck. Looks much better IMO. Next tires I'm gonna go to 295's till I get my Rancho 4" lift. (muahaha). The company that makes this kit is called Hill 4 Wheel drive out of Kalifornia. You could run 285's no problem. I never did correct my computer for the change in tire size. I keep meaning too. I think I run about 3 mph faster. Your dealership should be able to adjust it for you free of charge. Their computer adjuster can only go to 295 or 285. Without doing this leveling kit, or cranking the torsion bars (bad), you can run 285's with slight rubbing. The limitation on the current models is the front wheel well. The leveling kit is not too expensive btw. |
