My mind was blown when I was working the finish line at a marathon once and saw several early finishers head to the beer tent and chug one down. Michalob ultra was even a sponsor, and this was on fort benning. I actually really like Michalob ultra for this purpose. |

Ain't gonna' happen because its BS. I know. Although, I have heard of soccer players in europe drinking alcohol free stouts during half time to boost up carb intake for more energy, but never as a recovery drink. |

No, it has alcohol, which diminishes protein synthesis. http://studenthealth.ucsd.edu/partynutrition.shtml Look at the very first point in this presentation. http://adcaps.wsu.edu/media/142902/Alcohol-AthleticPerfPPT.pdf |

Beer has miniscule amounts of incomplete protein and not only that, but alcohol negatively affects protein synthesis. The only thing "good" about beer after a strenuous work out would be the carbs, but there are better sources. ETA: Got beat |
