Back in the 80's I used to be a big Queen fan and really liked the music in this movie.  Princess Aura was pretty cool too.

I was just thinking about this earlier. I've worn out "The Final Countdown" as a message saying that is playing in your head right now. This will be tomorrows song stuck in your head day.

FLASH!!!! AAHHHHH AHHHH!

For pure campy entertainment, I like the original serials with Buster Crabbe even better.  Jean Rogers was hot, and Charles Middleton was the perfect villain.

Who knew they had flat-screen TVs in the 1930s?

I saw it in the theater when I was in like 5th grade.  Loved it and remembered it fondly.

I watched it again about 10 years ago for nostalgia purposes, thinking I'd like it....OMG it is a steaming pile.

Sometimes you can't go home again.

At that moment in time, I think Ornella Muti was the hottest woman on the planet. She has aged well, and still looks good. Bought the collectors DVD with the cover art by Alex Ross when it was released.

I don't think I've ever seen a worse movie. Ever.

And this is coming from a guy who actually owns a copy of "The Haunted Mansion"...that Eddie Murphy Disney ride tie-in movie.

I would rather watch Ishtar again, SOBER, than sit through watching Flash Gordon again.

FLASH AHA,, THE INVICABLE!

I would rate that movie in my top ten child movie experiences.

Interesting trivia:
Buster Crabbe starred in the pilot episode of Buck Rodgers in the 25th century. He played an aging fighter pilot with the call sign Flash and had red lightning bolts on his helmet.
Funny part was the dialog between him and Gil Gerrard about how Buck has been doing this (piloting) a long time after Flash tried to give him advice on dog fighting and his reply was something like" son I have been at this a lot longer than you".
I though it was a cool cameo moment.
