Not sure which one to get. I currently have the first iPad and a galaxy S2. I really like the new opera browser on my phone, but only opera mini is available on ipad. Is there a browser on ipad that will play flash videos? I know steve jobs was against that. I play a few games, mostly just browse the web and want something that isn't as laggy as my ipad 1.

No. Flash is a battery killer.

That's what chargers are for. I won't be carrying my tablet around with me.

Any new android device won't have flash support.
Personally, I prefer the ipad over the android tablets.  I don't like the widescreen form factor. Of android tablets.

I have a current iPad and a current generation Nexus 7. Since I got the Nexus 7 the only time I reach for the iPad is when I need a specific app.

Realistically unless you're heavily invested in one platform or there's an app on one that you have to have it's a tie.

That being said IF I was in that category I'd probably buy an Android tablet for the price point.

I would rather stitch my eyelids shut with poison ivy vines than own/work on an Apple/Itunes dependent device

Sent from my old-ass Galaxy Tab.

What kind of person are you and what use do you plan?

I have an iPhone, two Android tablets and a Win 8 Pro tablet.

If you like to live fenced in, everything "sterile" and meh go for the iPad.   Advantage of (expensive) accessories everywhere.

Go for the Android if you want more versatility, many different tablet options that are also more economical.   Great free apps that even include topo maps that I use constantly when off-road.

Avoid Windows 8 like the plague unless you like that "fenced" feeling of Apple devices but very poorly implemented.  Only advantage I see on the Windows device is that it is a real computer, but Microsoft managed to screw it up.
