| Is it possible to like Rage Against the Machine, but disagree with their politics? |
| Yes. If I didn't listen to music, or watch movies because of the politics involved, that would narrow the list to nothing. The extreme left has complete control of the entertainment industry. I don't like it, but I partake anyway. Anyone who seriously considers political advice from a rapper or actor is a moron. |

A lot of the lyrics if taken at face value have some of the same ideas as are spoken here, like how people are sheep and our freedoms are being trampled. At any rate the music is bad ass. Honestly I never understood that. AFAIK the guitar player was an avowed communist. So our freedoms are being trampled and yet somehow the answer is to take away economic freedom? I guess freedom is good unless you get more money than I do. |

I hate Their politics. If You want metal like that but with a progun / pro American message.... There's a reason why this band probably has a few hundred fans. I'd rather listen to music that I like, and get politics elsewhere - than get it spoon fed through crappy music. ETA: LOL listened to the rest of it and I gotta say I like it.

"Tonight's benefit is not to support cop killers or any other kind of killers," Rage Against the Machine's lead singer, Zack De La Rocha, said. "And if there were no question about Mumia Abu-Jamal's guilt, we would not be holding this concert. But whether Jamal is guilty or is himself the victim of an outrageous miscarriage of justice is precisely what is at issue." From your link. |

It's one thing if a band is a bunch of liberal twats, but sing about fucking chicks or taking a road trip. It's quite another when they wear their politics on their sleeve and rant about the capitalism that's making them wealthy through ticket and CD sales. I can't stand to be preached to, especially when the preaching is commie horseshit that hates my culture and nation. Good on ya if you can look past that, but I can't. |

Buyin' all the products that they're sellin' ya They say jump and ya say how high Ya brain-dead Ya gotta fuckin' bullet in ya head I've got no patience now So sick of complacence now Yes I know my enemies They're the teachers who taught me to fight me Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality What? The land of the free? Whoever told you that is your enemy |

I can usually ignore the lyrics of liberal bands when they aren't rubbing it in my face, but I can't stand listening to something that is directly talking about supporting everything I despise. |
