Do any of y'all know of a skydiving company that will let you jump at 16 (tandem)? (researching for a younger brother) I found a place in Tennessee and I emailed them with no response. I'm certain there are places in NC you can jump at 16 because I know of people that have, So where are they?
(I posted this in the hometown forums as well but figured more people would see it here) |

Correct me if I'm wrong but It's not against the law to let people jump at 16? It's just a matter of finding one? Quoted:

I tried to find a place for my daughter, but I couldn't find anything inside the US Correct me if I'm wrong but It's not against the law to let people jump at 16? It's just a matter of finding one? You sign away alot of rights with tandems. Hard for a 16 year old to sign away rights they technically don't have since they aren't adults. Too much of a liability for the tandem instructor. |

| My wife recently jumped at Raeford Parachute Center, but I'm pretty sure the minimum age was 18. |

I'll bet if his parents sign it will be GTG. Both the parents would sign. As posted before..the insurance probably won't cover someone under 18. ETA: Honestly, may just want to wait till 18...no hoops...you can just walk in and do it. If they are a busy drop zone..schedule it for his 18th birthday. I recommend Accelerated free Fall..cost a little more..but you aren't attached to anyone...and all you have to do is pull. |
