Greg Serres, an ATF ethics official, told Dodson that any of his supervisors at any level could disapprove outside employment "for any reason." Sucks that he can't make a reasonable profit off of his time in writing the book, but it looks like nothing is stopping him from putting it out there for free if he chooses. |
| Only because he's still employed. If he chose to resign or retire or publish it for free there's not a damn thing they could do about it. It would be a tragedy if a laptop containing the entire book was forgotten in a public place and some pesky reporter found it. |

Guess he has a math problem. Will the royalties from his book make him more money than his employment at BATFE? Simple equation, really.
Or, as an alternative, perhaps there is a deep pocket conservative or libertarian media outlet (Fox)/think tank/lobbying group that might hire him and cover him on principle - sorta like the libtards do for their people. Difference is when the libs do it it's to cover for criminal activity, not for blowing the whistle on criminal activity. |

I have an acquaintance who made an Imperial Shit Ton of money publishing a book, but it's kind of a crap shoot. While we would be interested, I'm not sure the appeal would be broad enough to turn into a best seller.
It would never ever get the kind of publicity that a traditional best seller would garner, it would only get press from conservative radio, Fox News, and NRA plus a few websites like arfcom. That sounds like a lot, and it might be enough, but it would never see as much promotion as the kind of promotion I've seen for other NYT best sellers. ++80% of the media would not be there for him. Its a tough call. I think it would depend on how many years service and his future prospects in the ATF are. Probably not very good, so probably it's worth rolling the dice and flogging the shit out of it. Books like this get stale very quickly, so he needs to get hot if he' s going to publish. |

Or maybe someone could find him a nice, safe Congressional district that needs a candidate. Who might relish a seat on the Judiciary Committee. |

From Fox news :
"Rather than provide a specific objection which would allow for a line-by-line redaction, ATF used a policy that "grants supervisors the discretion to censor critical speech simply because it annoys or embarrasses the ATF," Rowland wrote in a letter delivered Monday." Now they can censor someone for being annoying? These people, and the power they're wielding, have become very, very dangerous. |

They fired him for being a whistle-blower, which is a violation of Federal law. They didn't like it when he pointed out that they were violating the law on numerous fronts, while lying to Congress, so he got axed. Thread is dupe as well. |

you know what's bad for morale? funneling guns to drug and human smugglers in Mexico and getting Border Patrol agents killed. that is bad for morale. shining light on the truth that the ATF and DOJ has tried so hard to cover up is not bad for morale. The blood of several hundred civilians is on that agency's hands. All to push an agenda. They even got the president involved in the cover up with the 'executive privilege' bullshit, which tells me that the direction to do all of it came from the top. At least the mafia had some honor. |
