Drug, alcohol and other forms of physical and psychological addiction and abuse are a major factor. Many of those homicides had components of other criminal activity involved including past and current histories of gang affiliation and violence, drug abuse, gambling, etc. Creative folks also tend towards an increased degree of emotional instability, as do those they choose to keep around them. The implications there are obvious. Another thing that makes celbs huge targets for homicide is their high profile and their tendancy to run their mouths sort of reckless. That tends to inspire fanatics and lunatics. As an aside, another one was killed last night at 2:30 in the morning. He was shot in the passenger seat of a friend's car. The friend was unharmed (physically). The actor in question was in Major Dad, and a number of television shows. Instability, glitzy and often dissipated lifestyles, substance abuse, criminal involvement and reckless behavior, combined with frequently LOW intellectual capacity and reasoning ability all add up to an increased risk factor for both homicide and suicide. |
