I don't get it. Didn't care for the first one, kinda boring and predictable. I surely wouldn't pay to see a sequel. Not a fan of the graphic novel are you? I liked it a lot better when i watched it at home , For having such a limited budget i thought it was awesome |

I bought my bluray on the 18th. I blame Rob Schneider for me blowing of the recent Dredd; he ruined the first movie. When I finally caught Dredd on redbox I was surprised how much I liked it. Talked a few buddies into seeing it - They didn't seem interested as they thought it was a REMAKE of Stallone's Dredd Informed them Dredd wasn't an Stallone Original thing, They watched and liked it |

I thought it was a good movie with pretty solid action (liked the graphic nature) but the plot was quite flimsy IMHO. I would pay to see a second one, but hopefully it's got a little more of a plot to it; not that I expect a masterpiece of plot devices from such an action movie but a little more depth would be nice ![]() |

Never seen the first "Dredd" but I just watched a trailer and it looked kinda shitty. I remember seeing Judge Dredd in movie theaters and it was awesome! I agree with your first sentence since I wasn't impressed by the trailer either. I only Redboxed it because there was nothing else...I now own the Bluray. But "Judge Dredd" being awesome?
That was a Stallone movie where he played a character named Judge Dredd. (and Rob Schneider?!?!?! Really?!?!?) Dredd was about Judge Dredd. Pure and simple. (plus Judge Anderson |
| I didn't care to see it in theaters, I thought it was a remake of Stalone's movie. However I put it on my Netflix que and decided I'd give it a go. I had just gotten the HTC One and decided to watch it on my phone just to give it a try. I ended up really liking it, not deep, but the characters were cool and to action ended up being pretty awesome. Definitely would recommend it. |

Why's that girls voice sound so rough? |

Dredd was awesome. Much better than Judge Dredd. ( don't tell anyone but I enjoyed that one too) I would love to see a sequel. Total badass kicking the shit out criminals and evil doers, whats not to like? His character dispenses more real justice in an hour and a half film than our legal system does in a month. ( yes I realize its fiction, but its a fiction that I can get down with)
Of course it would never work, there would be WAY more corrupt Judges like the 3 in the movie. It would become an inherently criminal organization itself. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. |

Yet still barely qualifying as third rate even at hollywood standards. No need for a sequel. Quoted:

WAY fucking better then the pile of shit that Sly was in. Yet still barely qualifying as third rate even at hollywood standards. No need for a sequel. Yet still more enjoyable than 93% of the crap hollywood put out this year. I think it's an interesting world the movie introduced us to, I'd like to see more. Quoted:
You guys need to check out "The Raid: Redemption". "Dredd" was pretty much a remake. When I watch a movie, I want to watch a movie...not read.
j/k
The Raid is pretty good (I'm planning on buying it) and the concept is similar, but Dredd was actually in production before it. I look at it as two of the same idea, like hollywood is prone to do. (ex. Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down) Here's a pretty good review of it, http://ace.mu.nu/archives/337489.php *Spoilers* |

I'd really like that. I've seen both the Sly Stallone & Karl Urban movies and have to say... I prefer the remake over the tired old Stallone number.
But seriously, I liked how much they tried to keep him in character. From what I've seen of the comics, he never took the helmet off for anything. And hey I'll take psychic-Anderson as the working partner over Rob Schnider ANY day. I didn't think they had enough success for a sequel but if they did... i'm all for it. |

"The servo Droid is your friend. Please move aside." "Eat recycled food. It's good for the environment and OK for you." |

It would become an inherently criminal organization itself. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. They could only address 6% of the crime in the city. They had to deal with the worst and pick up the bullshit stuff on the side while going to the real deal. They had to give a semblance of a system of justice or else it would be total anarchy. At least they aimed it at the criminals instead of intimidating and beating the lawfully compliant into submission while abusing and stealing from them. Of course it's a movie, but if you want to compare to real government..... |
