Well the guys in the DOD are naturally sensitive about stuff like this. They never liked it when North Korea and Vietnam used our people for propaganda photos.

And even though these were not taken with the intent of using them as propaganda, and even though the American public LOVES them, the brass are going to be most irate.

Probably some GI brought his own camera so he could show his family real live terrorists, and he made the mistake of using the interet to pass them around, not thinking that THEY might share with other friends and co-workers and so on.

[OT] In contrast, every once in a while this mag I buy has some N. Vietnamese propaganda photos -- you know, the soft-focus, idealist posing, obviously staged shots that are like posters for the peoples' heroic struggle to shake off the imperialist insects...[hey, wait a minute, it sounds like I've seen one too many pictures]
