[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Baseball caps? (Page 1 of 2)

| I usually wear a ball cap, because I have shitty hair. The problem is that I have a hard time finding cool hats locally. I'm not into sports, so team logos, which are everywhere, are not my style. The problem I have is that when I order online, I often get those hats that have no structure to the top. They are just thin cotton and look retarded when I put them on my head. Is there some sort of description for these hats, vs the good ones that are stiff and better quality? It would be nice to know exactly what I'm ordering, rather than rolling the dice as I have been. |

Hats
Of course, I live in the "Old West" just 50 miles from the grave of Billy the Kid! |

I'm not a sports guy either, so it's kind of hard to find hats that don't have sports logos or something else I don't like. I've found that some of the more subdued and "plain" looking Under Armour hats work well for me. http://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/9086/10h/origin-d4.scene7.com/is/image/Underarmour/1219733-390?fmt=jpg&qlt=85,1&bgc=efefef&wid=584&hei=550&fit=fit,1&extendN=0.25,0,0.03,0&rect=0,0,584,550 http://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/9086/10h/origin-d4.scene7.com/is/image/Underarmour/1219733-390_B?fmt=jpg&qlt=85,1&bgc=efefef&wid=584&hei=550&fit=fit,1&extendN=0.25,0,0.03,0&rect=0,0,584,550 I'd wear that |

Never mind - found it. It's called the Under Armour Friend or Foe. |

I do like trucker hats, but most seem to have some cheesy picture on them. |

I just can't do the flat brim. My son wears those and they sit over the tops of his ears. Seems to be the cool thing to do. |

Thinkin this will be my next hat purchase... Just love that Kryptek Mandrake camo http://images2.opticsplanet.com/755-405-ffffff/opplanet-vertx-kryptek-mandrake-hat-w-velcro-patches-and-embroidery-vtx9945kmd.jpg Been wearing a vertx in highlander for a while. My buddy has the madrake version and it's pretty badass. |

I have the same issue, OP. I have a fairly small noggin, so the square tall hats look stupid on me... the smaller styles don't have much structure and look floppy.
I generally shop lids.com for any blank hats I want. Some good brands for descent structure and not straight-brimmed super-tall douche hats are: Top of the World (Home Run or Letterman styles) Zephyr (Zfit) New Era (3930 ONLY - everything else they have is now stupid tall) Those are the only brands I am realyl familiar with, but they have a ton of other generic brands on the site in many different colors - even some camo. http://www.lids.com/Blanks They are pretty good at handling returns if you don't like it, just be sure not to bend the brim, give it any signs that it has been worn, etc. |

That's not his grave. |

The type is structured, rarely specified but unstructured usually is

viperheadwear.com Or go to your local Lids, if you continue to the back of the store they have some non sport's team hats as well. Flat brim is just unformed, I enjoy enraging the sales tools by curving the brims before trying on. And of course just about every outdoors or sporting goods store also has a selection of hats. |

How much do you want to spend? Want American made?

Well if I were you, then... Sorry, I got distracted when I ran my fingers through my thick, wavy brown hair. Sorry. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile God damn you! I have always had baby fine hair that is straight. You can see my scalp through it and it lays completely flat on my scalp. I would rather have a jewfro, than this shit. |

LOL
Beiberiffic! I like the OR Swift cap. Not nearly manly enough for most here though. |

And it's the same hat as my Tiger's Field hat, but the OP didn't want one with a sports logo. |

I bought a Zeiss sport optics hat from a place online last year... On sale for $3... Man for a $3 ballcap, the thing is QUALITY!!! Perfect fit, and curve in the bill right out the box.
Plus people in the know, will instantly recognize you as a man of sophisticated taste in not only rifle optics, but also scientific and medical optical instruments... Until they read "Sport Optics" on the back that is! lol
It quickly became my new favorite hat... They jacked the price back up though, now its $9.95

I have to try a hat on before I buy it. Which is why I have only bought 2 hats in the last 4 years. A Throwback Houston Oilers hat and a Duck Commander hat, both of which I got my hands on before buying.
I'm picky about my hats and 99% of hats out right now suck. I hate this flat brim bullshit on almost all hats, which I think looks really retarded. So I go with old faithful, my Oilers hat most of the time and call it good. |
