| So, I just got done fixing & re-installing the IMRC on my '00 Ford Windstar (well, almost done, I did snap the head off of one of the 3 bolts and need to replace that now). Anyways, I've worked on my own vehicles before but never got my hands this dang greasy / dirty. Regular house soap just isn't cutting it, and I'd rather not scrub all my skin off. I remember back in HS Shop class there was some soap with a mild abrasive in it, and I've also used a soap that came in a tub and was a white cream type of stuff, but I don't remember what names they were or where they got them. So, what's the current fad in the world of decent hand soap for getting this crap off? Yes, I could probably just go to the local Advance Auto and see what they have, but wanted to see if there was something specific that's known to be good. |
| lots of dish soap before you put water on your hands.. that gets 90%off then take a shower.. i swear the best way to get the stubborn stuff off is to wash your hair. really scrub your hands through your hair and they come out like you were never working on a car.. |

I finally went and bought a pair of Mechanix Gloves to avoid mucking up my hands under the shadetree. I still don't use them though. ![]() I found a bunch of nitrile gloves when I was changing locks on a foreclosure purchase. You have to change 'em pretty frequently even if you double or triple 'em up, but they offer some grease protection without compromising dexterity. |
