I'm at the end of my rope. I have adblock plus and adblock pop up addon installed in firefox but I'm still getting new windows opening all the time and I want it to STOP NOW!

What other tools can I  use?

Go in to your ad-block plus settings and make sure they look ok and that you're opted out of the non-intrusive ads as well.

Remove the pop up addon.  Firefox has one built in and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that addon your using is causing the problem.

Go through all of your other firefox addons and make sure there aren't any shady ones running.

Download, install, update, and run a full scan with malwarebytes anti-malware to see if anything may have snuck in to your system and is causing the popups.

1. Always keep a copy of Combofix.exe file on the desktop. You can run it in safe mode with networking when shit happens. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/

2. Run Adware cleaner once in a while. It's also just an exe file. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

3. Malwarebytes to check up on your cleaning. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-rootkit/

Most of the time, Combofix will do the trick. It updates itself and cleans out all malware, adware and viruses. I've used it as the first fix for many years on many computers. Only one time did I have to run a rootkit fix after the fact.

Strange, with Adblock plus alone I never have any issues with pop ups.

Sounds like you've got adware/malware on your computer.

Unless the OP has already done that... sounds more like a virus to be honest.

Perhaps, but is certainly the first thing to check.  It may be that simple.  I have adblock, and I get ZERO popups.

Flashblock, too.  Keeps flash from running (and potentially infecting) until you click play.

Avast has a new browser cleanup tool:

http://www.avast.com/en-us/store

Its free, it will uninstall all of the browser redirects, toolbars and other ilk.

Combofix is not something the general public should use without supervisions, it can and will fuck your shit up at times.

I use ghostery, and I've added on the Firefox preferences bar that allows me to select or de-select of the fly if I want to allow images, javascript, java, flash, cookies, popups, colors, or animations as well as having a quick option to dump cache, location bar, history or cookies.
