I read the other day, the second one lost something like 60 million, so this one had to be released independently, and only happened because of the success of fast and furious, the movies, not the successful weapon selling program the .gov ran. I think it was an interview with vin. |

Also, if you like Riddick, don't forget to try the games also, probably the best story driven FPS to come out since the first Half-Life. |

I di remember a scene where he talks about why his eyes are like that and having been in prison-do any of the other movies actually show him in prison? |

No movies of him in prison but there's a video game( surprisingly well done) that covers when he was in Butchers Bay. I read that instead of getting paid for his cameo in Tokyo Drift, Universal gave him the rights to future Riddick movies. Since the last one lost a shit ton and they weren't doing anything with it he had been trying to buy the rights for a while. He made the new one independently for like $33 million then shopped it around to a bunch of studios and Universal ended up buying it right back from him. |

I think it was an interview with vin. Vin had to make some deals with the studio to get the rights to the franchise. Basically, he appeared in Tokyo Drift for free. After that, they spent ten years getting creative with getting it financed. At one point, Vin put his house up for collateral. Ironically, it is being released by the same company that released Chronicles (Universal). They thought they were going to shop it to Sony and others, but Universal showed interest and Vin talked his partner into listening to their deal. They did make most, if not all, of their money back in DVD + Theater sales. |

Same here, the ONLY thing they should have changed in the 2nd is the name of the fucking villains, otherwise an awesome action/sci-fi movie. Also, if you like Riddick, don't forget to try the games also, probably the best story driven FPS to come out since the first Half-Life. Quoted:

It was far underraited, IMO, and one of the best original "bad ass" SciFi films in the last ten years. Vin was born to play Reddick. He's totally believable in the role. "I'm not with these people, but I will take a piece of him." Probably a stupid move on all levels, but dude pissed him off and had to die. |

Maybe, but the damn thing has a cult following, so you won't be alone. "You made three mistakes. First, you took the job. Second, you came light. A four-man crew for me? Fucking insulting. But the worst mistake you made.......empty gun rack." He delivers every line perfectly. "This new crew is pretty skittish, Tombs, better not tell them what happened to the last crew." |
