Just ordered this along with a BCM bcg:

I'm going to need a rail, free float preferably.

I want to keep it carbine length (7"), or maybe even extended carbine length.

Theres so many goddamn choices, I really can't make up my mind... Luckily I have a couple weeks of penny pinching to make a decision.

Then it's getting sent off to ADCO to get a Griffin Armament flash comp pinned on

Those do look really nice.  But I want to wait and see what the new Bravo rail is all about.

You'll need the tools and vise to remove the flash hider, barrel nut, front sight base in order to install a free float, unless you find one that installs in two-halves onto a standard barrel nut.

Midwest Industries has some incredibly light rails that feel great in the hand.

I drool over those, but unfortunately they do not come in carbine length... Although an MK4 could change a mans mind

Until recently, I would have suggested Troy. I have been very happy with my Troy-equipped carbines, especially the one with a Delta rail.

There are many great options, obviously. Seekins, LaRue, Geissele, Noveske, MI, YHM, Daniel Defense, etc. I have a few DD and YHM, all of which are more than adequate for my dirt-shooting needs.

Don't put out Yankee Hill, they make some nice ones including the Diamond series, but I like the Smooth Handguards as well.

I just used a Yankee Hill on my latest build.  Edit to add, I think it cost about $160

I highly recommend an extended length rail.   The added weight is neglible and you will appreciate the length if you actually use any rail mounted accessories.

Troy?

I wish I could remember the brand of the rails I bought at Acadamy Sports in Georgia--and probably other states.  The rails installed well and true, but it seems the width of the grooves in the rails were sized without considering the thickness of the 'anodize' coating--that looked great however and was nice and thick.  I hated having to file it off and refinish them with sharpies to get the laser--apparantly sized to fit tightly in the grooves--to mount.

IIRC, BCM was promoting some sort of new rail on their FB page just the other day.  Anybody know anything about it?

VTAC is nice, plus it uses a standard barrel nut so save you a little on some specialty tool for a unique rail. Your only problem is removing/ hacking off your FSB and D-ring.

The build it yourself section could do you wonders.

Same BCM upper as yours, too.  Are we about to become best friends?

Install was super easy.  I used snips to carefully remove the handguard cap, and a dremel to zip through the d-ring, back to the snips for the spring and done.  Sammich the halves together and tighten.  Done.

The diamond feels nice. It has a beefy hand-filling profile, so don't expect it to be slim.

PRI carbon fiber.  Rails where you want em, smooth where you don't.  Plus it won't transfer heat like metal.

Holy smokes... BCM called me about at about 12 noon (shortly after I ordered) to confirm my shipping info... Then 5 minutes later I got a UPS shipping notification! It'll be here on Monday!

Talk about fast top notch service!
