Lawn mower started sputtering when it wasn't level, now it won't even start...plug is new, cleaned the air filter...what else could it be?

Try Sea Foam?

ETA:  cracked fuel line or priming bulb

Old gas in the carb getting it all gunked up?

I would look into the fuel system.

Oil level is fine, never changed it though.  Mower is 2 years old.

ETA:  Plenty of gas too...

What kind of mower and what engine?

Best Guess:

Crap in carburetor = get can of carb cleaner, pull air filter, spray all around paying attention to small holes and cavities.

Does it have a vacujet carb = gas tank right under carb

OR

Regular carb - gas tank to the rear and above the carb

I'd say the fuel was not getting to the line from your "not level" statement.  Could also be too much air getting into the mix from a bad seal or carb adjustment.

Clean and inspect carburetor, especially if you left gas in it all winter.

If your engine looks like this:

1. Pull air cleaner off

2. Spray Carb Cleaner down hole at the bottom of the carb

3. Clean air filter with hot, soapy water, squeeze dry very well

4. Install cleaned air filter

5. Start mower

If your engine looks like this:

1. Remove Air Filter

2. Remove 3 bolts holding air filter housing on

3. Detach vacuum tube from rear of housing

4. Remove housing

5. Using a 3/8" with an extension, remove the 2 bolts on each side of the carb

6. Detach fuel line and throttle linkage

7. Remove Carburetor

Next:

1. Remove screw at the bottom of the carburetor

2. Remove fuel bowl

3. Drain crap out of bowl

4. Unscrew brass piece at bottom of carb - there are two tiny holes in this - one runs horizontally through the bottom and a vertical shaft intersects the horizontal one

I clean these using a set of tip cleaners for a cutting torch, but any small wire will do

5. Spray cleaner into every hole and passage in carb

6. Reattach brass cap on bottom

7. Reattach fuel bowl

8. Reattach carb to mower using reverse order of step 1

Take off the air filer and do about a 3 sec shot of carb cleaner down the throat. Immediately try and start it. Does it fire up? If it does, your problem is going to be fuel delivery.
