Been thinking about this lately. Coversix, in the original 9/11 thread, said that SEAL team 6 was going to put a burst in Bin Laden's head. I get chills every time I think about his quote. What happened to Coversix? http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/50617__ARCHIVED_THREAD____Plane_Crashes_into_world_trade_center_.html&page=8 |
'Kinda bizarre reading that 9/11 thread. I remember almost every single person that posted in the thread... and don't recall seeing many of them around anymore.
I was in a warehouse on a scissor lift hanging electrical conduit in the ceiling when the towers got hit. Went home for lunch and watched it on the news with my Dad. He died of a heart attack two weeks later. 2001 was a pretty bad year. |

| I was like 9 years old and I remember our teacher having us gather around and telling us that some planes had crashed into buildings. At the time I was smart enough to realize that bad shit happens all the time, so it was weird to me that this was considered a big deal. Little did I know until I got home... |

Yeah, I was in 5th grade. We turned on the tv for about 5 minutes after the first tower got hit. I didn't even know that they both collapsed until I got home.. |

Man, I don't even remember them having ID'd UBL on 9/11. Someone should email him through the website and see if he'll respond tot his thread. Lots of us knew exactly who was behind it the moment it was confirmed not to be an accident. OBL had wanted those towers to come down since the end of the cold war. |

My point was that I don't remember it being advertised the day of. Might have been, has been a few years, and I was quite busy that day and not in front of a TV. |

I had just returned from a DOJ seminar in California, and was sitting in my office when someone mentioned that a plane had hit one of the towers. I thought it was probably a student pilot in something like a Cessna. A few of us went into the conference room, and turned on the TV just in time to see the second tower get hit. |
|
I was partying pretty hard the previous night and my roommates kept yelling at me to wake up, talking about a plane hitting the WTC...when they said a plane hit the pentagon, I figured thought something might be up and I went in the living room. We spent the whole day in front of the TV; nobody went to work. Speed |

College (first time around) watching with a SF MSgt - 2nd plane hit and he got up, said bye and walked out - he was gone right after..... couldn't reach my parents - we (family owned a sign shop on LI) had a job in lower Manhattan that day... ended up getting pushed at the last minute. |
Weird, but I remember several people suspecting OBL from the get-go. Then again I remember the media "Let's not jump to conclusions about who is behind this" crap. ![]() I was at work in Tulsa Oklahoma when it happened. We turned on a TV after the first plane hit just in time for the second one. I had to drive to Pryor OK that day and every thought it was weird that I was going to do my job. It was a weird day, no planes in the sky and completely clear blue sky. The first song to come on the radio was "God is good (all the time)". Strangely it was unusual for me to listen to the Christian station at the time. Odd day, all around and odd to remember all those details to this day. |

And even before the 2nd plane hit, I said out loud that it was Osama Bin Laden in spanish class. No one knew who the hell I was talking about, but I had been doing a paper on the USS Cole suicide bombing and Al-Qaeda, and just kinda knew guessed! I was in my senior year of high school and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. My squadron was placed on "guard duty" at North Perry Airport. We were ordered to report to BSO if anyone came on the tarmac and went near a plane. Scary times for a guy that just turned 18 and never knew what the hell real shit was. I later enlisted in 2002.
My old man went to NYC with half his PD on Sept 13, 2001 and did work at WTC. My cousin worked in WTC and survived through an act of God. Amazing and sad at how much has changed and how much has stayed the same in a generation. |

I was in 10th grade US HISTORY class. The TVs in the room were automatically turned on the news for morning announcements and I guess the office turned it to regular news for us to see what was happening.
Our HISTORY teacher turned off the TV and said it was not important and we needed to get back to classwork. He apologized the next day. |

Shit, it was 0900.... 63 degress outside.... Of course you weren't there, pussy. We had just ran black ops into China. We never admitted to sending troops into China. I was talking to White House Chief of Staff, Hayden Sinclair. I asked him how old he was. He said 33. I told him by his 9th birthday I was running black ops into China and my men were responsible for over 200 enemy kills. I told Al Kramer to put some rigging tape over Mr. Sinclair's mouth, because he was wasting my time. This is how my day started again. __________________________________________________ "lol, idk, idgaf, foad" w/stte "Amateur Night at the Apollo" |

I'm still amazed the casualties were as low as they were given the number of people in the towers; much is owed to the FDNY and NYPD personnel, and others, who gave their lives responding. |
