I have wondered why this rifle has never made it to the civilian world en masse. I've seen a couple on here that are privately owned. For whatever reason its a rifle that interests me. I know that it has trouble cycling anything but steel case ammo and uses 25 round propietary mags, but damnit I would really like one.
Surely there has to be a quality manufacturer out there who could tackle this beast, fixing the ammo issue and have it use AR mags. No Kel-Tec this is not a challenge for you to fuck up. A man can dream right? |

I did an internship at a hospital and worked with a guy who had one. He was a surgeon of some sort, and had an impressive collection.
I never saw nor shot it, but he said it was not that great by any stretch. Poor sights and so-so reliability. He paid a lot for it I'm sure. I have no reason to doubt the guy. |

Those who actually use it, don't particularly care for it.

Having owned 3 semi-auto FAMAS rifles, including one of the the rarest Sniper variants, I can say that they feel like a cheap piece of crap when you handle them. That carry handle is about the flimsiest excuse for a sight rail ever manufactured on a battle rifle
forgive my using the word "battle rifle" when describing a French gun |
