What is Grimace? You know, the McDonalds character that is always accompanying The Hamburgalar. His is a big purple Hershys Kiss/Turd looking thing. Please somebody help me on this. If I remember correctly, the McDonalds characters other than Ronald were specificly non-human but not of any particular animal. Their identity comprises not of factual details, but emotions like happiness and satisfaction, all in order to scam your kids into wanting more McD's. Just wait 'till the terrorists get ahold of McDonalds marketing department. |

The Grimace doesn't represent any morphotype other than his own. When first introduced, he had an enormous craving for McDonald's "Triple Thick Shakes", you know, the ones with the parafin mixed right in. I believe he used to have more than two arms, the better to hold more shakes with, maybe he's down to two now... Anyway, he was often with the Hamburgular because they both have a serious jones for a certain MickeyD's product. Mayor McCheese would send Big Mac (the police character) to deal with them both. Am I the only one to remember this? Or did I imagine the whole thing..(it WAS the 60's after all) EDITED TO ADD: I just saw the picture and he's obviously had an arm-ectomy. Also, he used to be more of a blue color...I would guess the purple is an obvious attempt to make the Barney association in the little Happy Meal-chompers' minds.... |
