| Until about a week ago we were running a Motorola surfboard modem to a desktop computer and using a wireless router to connect the two laptops in our other devices in our house. We started getting a message that the connection cannot renew the IP address. The strange thing is that by bypassing the wireless router And plugging the ethernet cable directly in we can get a connection on one of our laptops but not the desktop or the other laptop. We still get a strong Wi-Fi signal but no connection to the Internet when we have the router in use. Our provider is Comcast and they have been absolutely useless in solving this problem. Any thoughts on where to begin? Presume I know nothing about computers because I barely do. Thanks so much for any input! |
