I heard this was a long movie w/subtitles. Is it any good and would I be wasting my time?

It is an excellent movie.

THe dubbed version is FANTASTIC, they used the principal actor's voices, and it doesn't look like a Godzirra movie at all.

MAKE SURE you get the remastered director's cut.  The sound on prior versions is very tinny, the depth charges sound like cymbals.

I read somewhere that when they went to remaster the print, the origional had somehow gotten wet.  They make ovens to dry film, but it destroyed the sound track, so they went back and redubbed the entire movie, now the depth charges shake the house, as they should.
