Thanks to the shaving advice here on GD, I have a very good razor, shaving cream and brush.

What I am lacking now is a good aftershave/skin balm.

I have naturally oily skin, but after a good close shave my skin is tender and I do get razor burn at times. What is a good recommendation from those that suffer from this?

Thanks!

first of all a better shaving cream/soap will help with the razor burn

try products from the napa soap company. i have the same problem, the burn went away after i switched to their product
use the omega badger brush

a good bay rum also helps

also use a very sharp razor, most times it is form using dull blades

also clean you razor after each use. i use 70% alcohol and green aloe vera on my razor to clean it

Thanks.

Keeping sharp blades.

Using boar bristle brush.

Using good soap. Found some with Che butter and that helps.

Shaving advice:
If your epileptic, or prone to sneezing, don't shave your junk with a straight razor

Well I have not shaved since 2006...

But I do know that if you store your razor in Ballistol it will keep its sharp edge a lot longer.

Does not matter if it is a plastic one, an older twin blade or a straight razor. After use keep the head of the razor or the blade submerged in Ballistol.
