Do you have to pull it and how often?

I do every fourth week from 8AM Monday to 8AM Monday.

Kinda wrecks your weekend but it's an extra $100 a week plus the call out and OT.

I know a guy who does on call for free because they said they'd give him a free phone......they gave him a blackberry pearl!

I try to pull it once a day, regardless of shift.

I'm always on call, I've only been called twice in 13 years.

I live on call.  24/7 unless on vacation.  Just the life of an oilfield service hand.

Once a week and one weekend a month.

On call on weekends almost always = working for me.

Don't have to currently, but at my previous job it was one week a month. Even though I was rarely called and got $5/hour for carrying the beeper 3:30pm to 7:00 am M-F, and all weekend, I hated being on a leash and would often give it up to any coworker who wanted it.

12 weeks a year minimum. one hour of pay per weekday, 2 hours for weekends and holidays. 2 hour min per callout, $20 meal if call out within 2 hours of end of standard shift.

Average 25-60 hours of OT depending on time of the years and how stupid the public is on a particular week.

Just started being on the duty roster, of course this is the ICS roster and I am IC. There are 6 of us (about to be 5 as one guy is moving) and its from 4PM Thursday til 4PM Thursday.  And I am a salary employee, so no OT, and as of now, no bonus pay.

Supposedly they plan to raise the number of eligible IC to 8, which would be great, but I will believe it when it happens.

6 months out of the year... two weeks on two weeks off... $3.50 an hour to carry a phone for one location... im cool with it...

beats the hell out of my last job where 24/7 365 i was "expected" to answer my work phone and respond no matter what... however i would only get $50 every 6 weeks... durring the winter it was slow but if it was over 80° i would get called daily... hated that friggin company

Every other two weeks for $2/hour.

Every other week. I rarely ever get called.

Call pay makes my house payment.

I hate call, put me to work as much as you want but being a slave to my phone/pager sucks!  Depending on my contract it can vary from optional to one day a week plus a weekend.

2 or 3 times a month.  24 hour shifts

Used to do 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. 4  hrs straight pay per week for being on call, plus a company truck to drive home those 2 weeks (except last 6 months of doing it). Plus 4 hr minimum for a call out payed at OT rate.

Now, with my new employer, I am more or less a phone call away all the time, but there is no real expectation, and very rarely do I even get calls, so I do not feel like I am on a leash like previously. Not too shabby really. Even though the extra pay was nice, being on call and tethered really sucked!

Twice a year mandatory but it's a great way to get big OT so I take it at least 4-6x a year or if I want to buy a new toy.

Some weeks you can make triple your paycheck.

Basically...24/7/365 unless I'm on vacation or request a day at least 30 days in advance. No on call pay either. Only get paid when I go out.
