Dog throws up his meal because he ate it too fast. Should I let him eat it back up? Yes, he's a dog. Yes. Dogs are "self-cleaning" in a few (but not many) aspects... ETA: to be a bit more helpful, there are special bowls and some tricks that you can use to prevent eating too fast. Our mastiff would inhale food when he was young and we tried a few things that worked to a degree, but it turns out that he naturally slowed down once he got a bit older. |

Thanks everyone!

They make bowls designed to slow down how fast the dog eats. Ya might want to look into it. Yea, I feed 3x per day as is, and have been splitting each feeding into 1/3 portions. Today's upheaval was due to a treat I gave him and he literally swallowed it. |

Today's upheaval was due to a treat I gave him and he literally swallowed it. My pup did that. Got a treat ball(soccer ball w/ hole in one side) she had to roll it around and food falls out. After a few weeks she learned to eat slowly. No problems since, although sometimes I put her food in it just to piss her off. |
