My folks have a slimmer version of same cat that exhibits same ninja behavior.

Rolls on back with that "look at me, I am cute, please pet me" look. Enjoys pets for between 5-90 seconds then goes into ninja shredder mode.
I hate that bipolar fuckstick of a cat.

The trick is to not get your fingers amputated. You can take bets when your friends try it. It's a game of skill. It can be very profitable, too.

My parents had a cat that liked to play "around the corner". Miss him greatly.  RIP Willie.

Dog was a Great Dane. When the cat was on the floor when the dog came around he ran from her. Every now and then he'd get a wild hair and jump up on a chair arm and it was game on.

The main thing is to NEVER play rough with a kitten with your hands. It's fun then, but they grow up and don't forget. Declawing is not a good option. but if you follow that rule from the start AND teach them to tolerate cutting just the sharp points of the front claws off every two weeks, it makes it better in every respect. Never trim anywhere close to the 'quick' - it's extremely painful and you won't be able to get them to let you do it again. A great way to 'cool-out' an aggressive cat is to get him a playmate. They love to play-fight/wrestle/chase and it usually redirects the aggression. I had never had but one cat at a time, but after my previous one passed somebody dropped off a kitten on my street and he found his way into my neighbor's garage. We took him and he was pretty wild. After about a year we decided to get a younger one for him and found a rescue at Petsmart. Wow - what a difference after only six weeks. His aggression toward us is down to nil and they're buddies. It's best to get a younger one than the existing cat. And watch 'My Cat From Hell' - we really learned a lot and we've been cat owners for decades. That guy is a freak but he totally knows cats.
