I need ideas for things to mail him to make his stay "memorable". So far my idea list includes:
ETA: For all the forum raging asking if I ever served, 11 year NCO, beret wearing battlefield airman, never got around to submitting a DD214, deal with it. |

Common sense missing here. |
| I was a Drill Sergeant many years ago (1988-1990) and I know a lot has changed since then. We used to make the trainees open any packages they received in front of us during mail call. Sometimes it was pretty amusing, at least to us but usually not so much for the trainee. We of course confiscated any contraband such as cigarettes, dip, porn, food, etc. that they had received. I remember one private whose wife had decided she was a lesbian during his absence and sent him some very explicit pictures of herself and her girlfriend. The private was pretty distraught about the whole situation and came to us asking about what he should do. After a brief brainstorming session, all of us Drills agreed on a course of action. Being the compassionate, caring Infantrymen that we were, we told him to have his wife make a video and send it for our review. For some reason that I'll never understand, he didn't think much of our idea. Come to think about it, the First Sergeant wasn't very happy about it either, although he did laugh when he was initially told about the situation. He did stick it out and graduate though. |

Yeah. While you may think this is all fun and games. It isn't. If you do this, prepare for the worst ass beating you can imagine. |

Send him an autographed picture of Obama. ![]() First real suggestion. Holy shit, thank you. Bunch of babies on GD that can't understand two brothers playing jokes on each other. My oldest little brother is 17 years my junior. I understand. Big brother rules dictate you must fuck with him. I toughened up my little brother up and now he's on an ODA with 20th Group. Cookies.. Pounds of sugary cookies with sprinkles. |
