Here's a picture of the coast side of the gear. Backlash is .007-.009. I can move the pinion a tiny bit deeper and get a better pattern on the coast side but the line moves sharper into the root on the drive side.
Is this an acceptable if all other values are within? Drive Side

Brand new, I'm gonna go a tad deeper which will help bring the coast pattern back a tad and call it. I think im in the neighbor hood. I seem to get that hard line at the root no matter how shallow I go, so Im just gonna stop worrying about it.
My first setup so I just wasnt sure. |
