Wow. I think a psychologist could make a career out of whomever came up with that. |

It is common for Canadian expats living in the United States to celebrate Canada day by hanging fish in public places. Since you live down in the southwest you won't see it that often and I can understand why it would be surprising. Here in the border states, it's pretty commonplace to see this time of year. One important part of this tradition that many people don't know, is that if you catch a Canadian in the act of hanging the fish, he must produce a Queen Elizabeth quarter on demand. Failure to do so brings shame to the family. So most Canadians try to do this at discreetly at night, and are sure to carry a few extra quarters. High school students roam the streets at night, hoping to catch a Canadian in the act and earn some loose change. Like collecting cut off ears from VC's, some turn this into a competition and offer a prize for whoever acquired the most quarters by the end of the week. |

Low potassium, habit breaking mojo. Yeah, the sacrifice called for a live chicken, it was substituted for a Purdue from the local Publix. LOL |

I would like an explanation for why a fish is tied to a light in a parkinglot: http://i341.photobucket.com/albums/o370/techgal_pics/Photo0177_zps202315e3.jpg Please and thank you. Well, yeah...That is a very fair question. I would also love to know the answer as well. |

ETA: Upon further inspection, that looks like you must be far south from me. I've never seen a fish that has such a freakish dorsal fin up here

Perhaps the angle is bad or maybe the fact that it had been up there long enough for it's innards to rupture out of it makes things look off a bit, but it did look like a perch. A really bad perch but a perch.

Techgal, thats Santeria practice.
It's Catholicism mixed with african Voodoo type shit. Spanish Voodoo. they also throw chickens in paper bags in the middle of an intersection. to cure someone of a curse/illment so that everyone who passed over the chicken takes a LITTLE of it with them until the person is cured. by giving a little to everyone else. It's like socialism, but with curses. redistributing the suffering. |
