If a double paned argon filled window loses its seal, is it kosher to just replace one of the pains and re-install the same window with just normal air in the middle?
is that just asking for issues down the road? |
| Not only would you have condensation issues, but no longer having the argon would reduce the energy efficiency drastically. Not to mention the actual separating of IG units is tedious and time-consuming and properly re-IG'ing them would be nearly impossible in an uncontrolled environment... |

Buying a new house. the old skylights were fogged to hell. obviously their seals were busted. We request they get replaced. they agreed. Just got the confirmation that they were "Fixed" and the repair notes as "Replaced two pieces of glass in skylight" 550 dollars. The wording and price for two skylights sounds fishy as hell to me.. ive had my Realtor seek clarification but didn't know if i was being over shitty about the wording or the price. |
