Yeah, I wanted one when I was a kid... then I found out that they sucked.

There was a guy down the street that had one when I was a teenager. So cool looking. He'd had it about a year and the floorboards were rusting out, badly. And this was in Waco, no salt on the roads at all.

Should have been a sweet roadster....

Yep!!

The Thaler twins each got one when they graduated. Me? Jealous? NOOOOOO!!!

They could be pretty snotty little go carts with the right tweaks, and as long as they were kept out of the rain, snow, damnpness.

Are there any still on the road?

Those commercials.....back in a time when they were selling Krugerrands on TV.

Knew a guy in the Corps who had one.

It would carry 4.

Driver, passenger, passenger in lap of passenger, and...................

....................one in the trunk.

Those Aggies, just what were they thinking?

No.

Looks British, therefore gay.

Mid seventies were not good car times. Even the TR-8 sucked.

The TR 250 was nice. Only made for 1 year, 1968 I believe.

Id rather have a TSR-80

Possibly one of the worst cars ever sold in the US market.

Sure there are.  My dad has several parts cars and one driver with a Buick V8 in it.

I had a convertible!

One of my buddies found a regular one in a barn. Bought it for about 500$.  Put in a new clutch MC and tires - sold it for 2k$.  Guy that bought it drove from the southeast to NY and kept it for a few years afterwards.

My dad had a gold one when I was growing up. I loved riding around in it.

I thought I wanted one.

I'd rather have had a TR-6.

I had a Spitfire for the summer of '76, between Jr. and Sr. years.

I remember the TR8's languishing on a British Leyland dealer's lot.  They probably gave them away with an oil change.

I'd rather have a Sunbeam Tiger.

Soo....there is one, or 30% of one to be accurate, still on the road.
Still ahead of Yugo and AMC.

The TR7 ruined it for the TR8, which was actually a darn nice sports car.
But in all truth, any British car was a crap shoot back in those days, a buddy bought a brand new '74 TR6 our senior year, thing would just shut down on it's own on a regular basis.

My dad actually bought my sister a convertible TR-7 for her 16th birthday.   By the end of her Junior year in College he'd spent as much on maintenance as he paid for the car.

Yeah.  My TRS-80 Model 4 was awesome.  Only $2,100 dollars (in 1983)  and came with 64K of RAM and TWO 5 1/4" floppy drives.  I used that little beast for 11 years and learned a lot about computers from it.   I even expanded the RAM to 128K!!   Wished I still had it for old times sake.
