Time to put the 2012 thread to rest and think about the new season...

Did you see the smack some other SEC coaches were talking about the program? http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2013/coaches-talk-anonymously-sec-west/ http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2013/coaches-talk-anonymously-about-sec-east/ “They are going to be terrible. What they are doing now, it’s the product of bad recruiting. They have a long ways to go. That’s nothing against the new coaching staff. But they are going to be terrible in Year 1. I think they’ll struggle up front, they’ll struggle in the secondary, the linebackers should be average. It’s going to take them three years to get a good foundation. It’s a product of bad recruiting – which is typical of Bobby Petrino. It’s the same thing that happened at Louisville that got Steve Kragthorpe fired. Petrino didn’t leave him any players. It’s the same thing at Arkansas. They have no players on defense…I think the young running back, Jonathan Williams, is going to be good for them.”

I'm ready!
Hoping the Sooners address their defense problems. Giving up 150 points in their last three games was disturbing to watch.

Ohio State will play an incredibly weak schedule, go undefeated, and lose to an SEC team in the championship. |

Quoted: The Ohio State hate is strong in this thread already. Look at this lineup: Buffalo (LOLWTFBBQ?) San Diego St. (Powerhouse, baby!) Cal (Yawn) Florida A&M (Holy shit - it's gettin' real!) ...followed by the usual sub-par Big-10 schedule. Yeah - that's got undefeated written all over it, followed by an ass-kicking at the hands of the SEC champion. Hell, I might just cheer for OSU to see that happen. |

While probably correct... GEAUX TIGERS! I wonder if the new OC can make a difference. It doesn't help that we lost so many guys on defense to the draft. We'll be competitive, but I have my doubts about a conference championship. LC |

i see LSU is playing nothing but POWERHOUSE teams again this season!
UAB KENT STATE FURMAN AUBURN |

OKAY, WHO'S THE JERK WHO THINKS HE CAN HIJACK MY THREAD? I'M THE ONE WHO GETS TO START THESE THREADS. #(*&$^*&% '13ERS....
Oh, wait. It's Zhukov. Nevermind. ETA: College Football News thinks the Cougars have a chance at a BCS bowl this year. If you think LuckyPunk Futuremodal was an insufferable homer for Boise State, just wait until I start posting after BYU gets to the Sugar Bowl.... |

Quoted: You gonna be our Futuremodal again this year, GarandM1, or you passing the torch? |

Quoted: Quoted: You gonna be our Futuremodal again this year, GarandM1, or you passing the torch? Look, the only reason Boise didn't make it to the championship last year was because the Media were in love with Notre Dame. BSU would have clobbered 'Bama.... |

A&M deserves to be in the top 10, but #2? No. Bama is #1, and either OSU or one of the PAC-12 elites will be #2. Louisville? Again no. They're benefitting from the Big East Bowl Bump. Cf. West Virginia, circa January 2012. Baylor but no Oklahoma State? Somebody broke out the good stuff. At the very least replace Baylor with OSU. Cowboys will likely contend for the Big 12 title this year - they pulled off a 7-5 record last year including a questionable loss to UT that probably should have left them 8-4, and that with so many QB injuries. They'll be much better this year. I think Baylor could be good this year, but there's plenty of time to climb in polls after we see what sort of defense Bennett puts on the field at the start of the year. On the other side of the ball, I think I'd have to give UGA a nod over Florida until I see something better out of the Gator offense. TCU is a huge question mark this year. We just never saw Pachall vs. good Big 12 defenses (not that the Big 12 can be considered defensively stout by any stretch of the imagination). The LSU-TCU opener will be very interesting. |

Boise is overrated; they have their toughest schedule in years and are likely to end up with at least two if not three losses. |

Florida A&M was a last minute fill in when Vandy pussed out. Schedule is very respectable again after this year. |
