Thinking about getting one of these and scheduling a 5-10 degrees temp difference on the weekdays when we aren't here to save electricity. Has anyone replaced a regular thermostat with a programmable one and if so could you tell a difference on the electric bill?

i did.  can i tell the difference?  hell i dont know because i isntalled it when i bought my house vs the astronomical bills when i had a westward facing apartment.

however, i got the 3M one that i can control from my smartphone.  totally worth it just for that feature alone.

When we built our house 7 or so years ago the HVAC people put one in.

We work non standard rotating schedules, that vary from week to week, it is useless to us.

If you work a regular m-f type of a schedule they are suppose to be beneficial money wise.

Yes and Yes

Mine does weekdays and weekend differently.

The stay at home smmich maker loves the fact that it goes to 80 during the day on weekdays.

The AC kicks on at 4pm to make it a more reasonable temp when I get home. It also gives her a heads up to start making sammiches.

Yup. I can also control mine over the internet. Even via my iphone.
