I have a brand-new XB360 Slim that I purchased about a month ago, and I am currently trying to play a game. APPARENTLY, even though it's worked just fine every night for the past several nights, the Xbox thinks the game is unreadable. No, it's a new game, so no scratches or anything. Restarted console, tried wiping the disc off, still thinks the game is unreadable.
What the fuck is wrong with this thing? |

Can't watch videos on the Youtube, my computer hates videos for some reason. Played another game, tried again later. Any other suggestions? |

WTF? How does one install a game on an Xbox? When start up the xbox select the game in the drive and press X then select install. You still have to put the disc in the tray to play but it is supposed to prolong the life of your drive and cut down on loading times. |

I shouldn't have cheaped out.

If you no how to replace a 360 dvd drive you should try that. You can get a cheap drive for 20 bucks, make sure its the same manufacturer. It will involve dumping the firmware on the drive to access the dvd drives lock key. Then you spoof that key to the firmware of the new drive, or to firmware that may or may not allow burned dvd's to be played, even on xbox live |

I'd talk to the GM of whatever store they bought it from and see if they will just swap it out. If not do a warranty claim with ms. |

check the ring of the disc..and if you can install the game to your HDD that may work. Does it do this with any other game??? ETA saw that its a 4g HDD...you can use a USB drive not sure if it will install to there though. Moved everything over to USB drive. Tried installing game onto the XBox's hard drive. Didn't work. Not sure what to do. Move everything off USB drive and install game on it? It still won't let me play the damned game. I just want to kill time.
